  4. Chronic sublethal exposure to silver nanoparticles disrupts thyroid hormone signaling during Xenopus laevis metamorphosis BioProject

    ID: PRJNA242206

    Keywords: Transcriptome or Gene expression

    Access Type: download

dataset.description: ndicate that low concentrations of nAg disrupt TH-dependent responses in precociously induced premetamorphic bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) tadpoles. The present study examined the effects of environmentally-relevant nAg concentrations (LoAg, 0.018 µg/L; MedAg, 0.18 µg/L; HiAg, 1.8 µg/L) on naturally metamorphosing Xenopus laevis tadpoles in two 28-day chronic exposures beginning with pre- and prometamorphic stages, respectively. nAg was found to significantly bioaccumulate in tadpoles after 28 days. While nAg didn’t alter metamorphic timing, it increased hindlimb length during early premetamorphosis and in post-metamorphic juve...
  5. Resveratrol ameliorates Imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like skin inflammation in mice BioProject

    ID: PRJNA268687

    Keywords: Transcriptome or Gene expression

    Access Type: download

dataset.description: reated group, and highlighted several resveratrol dependent changes in relevant genes, such as increased expression of genes associated with retinoic acid stimulation and reduced expression of genes involved in IL-17 dependent pathways (e.g.IL-17A, IL-17F,IL-23p19 ). Quantitative PCR confirmed a resveratrol dependent decrease in mRNA levels of IL-17A and IL-19; both central in developing psoriasis. In conclusion, resveratrol ameliorates psoriasis, and changes in expression of retinoic acid stimulated genes, IL-17 signalling pathways, IL-17A and IL-19 mRNA levels in a beneficial manner suggests it might have a role in the treatment of psoriasis and should be explored further in a human setting. Overall design: Three control mice, two mice with Imiquimod-induced psoriasis and two mice with Imiquimod-induced psoriasis treated with Resveratrol were used. The mice were distributed into 3 groups; a control group, an IMQ group and an IMQ-RSV (8, 10 and 10 mice per group). The mice in groups IMQ and IMQ-RSV received a daily dose of 62.5 mg of 5% IMQ cream (Aldara; MEDA AS) applied on their backs and right ear folds. The mice in the control group received a similar daily dose of vehicle cream (Vaseline Lanette cream; Fagron). The feed was pulverized (standard chow with protein, carbohydrate and fat accounting for 20%/70%/10% of caloric intake, respectively). Trans-RSV was added to the pulverized feed given to the IMQ-RSV group in an amount of 400 mg/kg animal/day based on average food intake. All animals were assessed for the severity of the psoriasis-like skin condition ...
  6. National Crime Victimization Survey, 1992-2005: Concatenated Incident-Level Files ICPSR

    ID: doi:10.3886/ICPSR04699.v3

Description: and types of crimes not reported to the police, (3) to provide uniform measures of selected types of crimes, and (4) to permit comparisons over time and types of areas. The survey categorizes crimes as "personal" or "property." Personal crimes include rape and sexual attack, robbery, aggravated and simple assault, and purse-snatching/pocket-picking, while property crimes include burglary, theft, motor vehicle theft, and vandalism. Each respondent is asked a series of screen questions designed to determine whether she or he was victimized during the six-month period preceding the first day of the month of the interview. A "household respondent" is also asked to report on crimes against the household as a whole (e.g., burglary, motor vehicle theft). The data include type of crime, month, time, and location of the crime, relationship between victim and offender, characteristics of the o...
