An enumeration area (EA) is the geographic area canvassed by one census representative. It is the smallest standard geographic area for which census data are reported. All the territory of Canada is covered by EAs. The area profile series gives a statistical overview of a region, presenting most of the census variables, univariately, for the following levels of geography: Canada, Provinces, Territories, Census Divisions, Census Subdivisions, Census Metropolitan Areas, Census Agglomerations, Census Tracts, Federal Electoral Districts, Enumeration Areas and Forward Sortation Areas. The profile series consists of data based on a 20% sample except for age,sex, and marital status which are obtained on a 10 0% basis. Census variables include: Age,sex, marital status and common-law status, Structural type of dwelling and household size, Immigration, citizenship and languages known, Aboriginal origins, ethnic origins and visible minorities, Labour market and household activities, place of work and mode of transportation, Education ,mobility and migration, Individual and family income, Family, dwellings and household information.
