description:
This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political issues. The questions ask opinions about political leaders and political issues within the country. There are also questions on other topics of interest and importance to the country and government such as the direction that the standard of living is going and eliminating the baby bonus for the rich. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic and social variables. Topics of interest include: the conservative government's record in office; which country offers the most happiness; the country with the highest standard of living; direction of standard of living; eliminating the baby bonus for the rich; giving Quebec special status; the next Liberal party leader; opinions about Broadbent; opinions about Clark; opinions about Trudeau; reactions to Quebec referendum; and the white paper on Quebec referendum. Basic demographic variables are also included.
