This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions of personal weight and dieting issues, impressions of political personalities such as Robert Bourassa, AIDS, the Meech Lake Accord, and the Government's treatment of Native Indians, the New Democratic Party leadership, and prospects for the next year - 1990. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as Quebec, the Governor General of Canada, English and French compulsory courses, opinion on having a woman as a leader, and questions related to political party preference. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables.
