description:
The Jokefest series of modules, of which this is the first, is directed at the investigation of the extent to which audience anxiety effects appear when the communication channel is the computer terminal. The first module consists of questions assessing the participants experience with jokes, relevant attitudes about jokes and their expectations concerning the extent to which they think future joke telling will arouse their anxiety. Participants are told that they must submit a joke next week , which will be seen by either their partner, team members, or department members. JOKEFEST is the module which follows JOKE1 one week later. It asks the participants to type a joke into the computer and then asks them questions that assess their anxiety over the experience. Two weeks following JOKEFEST, R responds to others' jokes and recalls nervousness felt about submitting a joke (POSTJOKE). No standard scoring.
